Before I started taking portraits, I directed them—as a model and/or creative director. My beginning works shaped who I was and how I wanted to move forward as a storyteller.
Where It All Began and Where It Evolved
Right after I graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2017, I found out that there was a creative arts community in the 757, DMV areas of Virginia. While I worked two jobs at the news station and Gold's Gym, I modeled with local photographers—and what I realized was how much I loved the creating of concepts for camera. My prior studies in both creative writing and visual rhetoric began to work hand-in-hand when it came to the communication of emotion and memory.
